Our Awesome Team

VOREE SMITH, MPT

Voree was raised in Burlington and has spent his entire professional career in Skagit and Island County. Graduated with a Masters degree from Loma Linda University in 2000 and moved back to his home town to start his career. In 2005, he and his associate Greg Fritz started Burlington Physical Therapy. He decided to go solo with Burlington PT in 2008 and has seen thousands of patients there since. In addition to being a well rounded physical therapist, Voree specializes in bicycle fitting, having been training by former National Track champion Paul Swift and Katrina Vogel, DPT and retailing Serotta Custom bikes in their hay day. Voree also works with Donkalope Bikes in Bellingham establishing custom frame measurements via his Serotta sizing cycle. In 2022, his former mentor Dr. Fritz retired from private PT practice and passed Voree the torch of his three practices, Anacortes PT, Oak Harbor PT, and Coupeville PT. Voree currently splits his time between the 4 practices.

PAT MCBRIDE, DPT

Pat hails from Whatcom County, took his undergrad at Whatcom and Western Washington University, and graduated from St Augustine University with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. For the past 18 years, Pat has worked in Mt Vernon where he employed a “movement is healing” type of approach. That is, if you learn how to move and control your body properly and with intention, your body will heal to its fullest potential. Rather than focusing on an MRI report that cites an injury, Pat’s focus is always oriented toward functional ability. You have a meniscus tear or arthritis and still want to run? You will benefit from this type of care. In 2022, Pat brought a career worth of experience and knowledge to Burlington Physical Therapy. We are proud to welcome him to the only locally owned therapy choice in Burlington. When he is not treating patients, he is busy practicing what he preaches, spending time with his family, channeling Wim Hof and running excessive distances quickly.

STACY ASARIAN, DPT

Stacy has been practicing physical therapy for 10 years (all in the Skagit valley).  She was born and raised in South Seattle and moved to the Skagit valley after she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Puget Sound.  Prior to her career in Physical therapy, she was a professional snowboarder.  After a few to many trips to physical therapy for her injuries, she decided to pursue a career in Physical Therapy so she could help others return to their passions.  She is happily married and is the mother of two little boys.  On her days off, she spends her time outside with her family enjoying all the fun activities the valley has to offer.  From hiking, kayaking, snowboarding, snowmobiling, boating, and biking, she understands the importance of having an active and healthy lifestyle.  She enjoys working with people of all ages and loves providing a fun, educational, and positive road to recovery.

PAUL TURNER, PTA

Paul hails from South Carolina and about 15 years ago he decided that Bellingham was commuting distance to the mountain biking Promised Land, aka The North Shore of Vancouver. After spending time and ligaments on the Shore, ACL reconstruction led him away from construction and into Whatcom Community College for his PTA degree. After interning at Burlington PT, he figuratively camped at the front door until he was hired full time in 2012. Paul’s modus operandi is always about returning you to what you love to do. He is here to help you get you there. He and the owner Voree have spent many sets of brake pads throughout Whatcom County, and yes even British Columbia. Paul enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, two young daughters, camping, and yes, mountain biking at O’Dad 30, otherwise known as 5:30 AM.

KATIE ADKINS, Patient Coordinator

Katie originally hails from Pennsylvania but now calls Washington home. Her background and studies are in dance and dance education. In May 2015, she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance from Temple University: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dance has given Katie the opportunity to share her love and passion through both performing and teaching. From January 2015, to May 2017 she performed in “Peter Rabbit Tales” by Beatrix Potter on a national tour for Enchantment Theatre Company. Katie took her embodied practice and love of dance and shifted into Montessori education where she found a perfect balance of teaching and learning through natural exploration and curiosity. Katie is grateful to be working with a wonderful team at Burlington Physical Therapy and believes each patient should have a welcoming and positive experience.

In her free time, you will find Katie spending time with her boyfriend and their two dogs, Shadow, and Sully. They love hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing and any other adventures the PNW has to offer! Fun Fact – She only has four states left to visit!
